If all data on the Internet were packed into DVDs, the disks would form two towers that reach from Earth to the Moon.

Database experts from IDC Technologies estimate that the volume of electronically stored data on the Web has now reached 1.2 Trillion gigabytes. They also believe this figure will increase to 35 Trillion gigabytes over the next 10 years. That would be enough for a DVD tower halfway to Mars.
